By John Grey
As if George Floyd
never happened,
the face
is like a grinning scythe
posturing
& sprouting
for his brain-locked minions –
I don’t see a cop
but some guy in a suit
with a blood-red tie,
with his knee
on a black man’s throat
while a crowd,
all gunned-up & lathering,
cheer him on –
it’s Chaney & Goodman
& Schwerner all over –
only the lynch mob
is in the millions,
the bullhorn, talk radio
or some loudmouth on Fox –
as if George Floyd
never happened –
not according
to the golfer-in-chief -
but George Floyd
is still happening
for the rest of us.
