Mirror of Time
Gary Greene: I am a retired engineer. After working in many different fields, I am concentrating on reading and hosting a small Spanish Book Club for beginning Spanish Speakers. This is my first venture in sharing my poetry outside of my immediate family. Gary lives in the state of Washington

Look in the mirror of time
What is the face of pollution
Alternatives were present
Or did baseless fear rule
The promise of sun and wind a breath of hope
But the wind and sun were not ready
The burden too great for them to shoulder
We did not lighten the load.
The deficit was forming
Dark clouds over the eastern shore
Idle we sit on the O5s.
As we watch the bus go by.
Who do we see in the mirror
Look very closely with an honest eye
